She has served with the highest distinction and professionalism, working for decades on behalf of the United States at the Department of State, the Department of Energy and the National Security Council. During her leadership at the Department of State, she served as lead US negotiator for the New START Treaty which remains a cornerstone of strategic stability. Deputy Secretary Gottemoeller has demonstrated true dedication and commitment to our country and has been a powerful example and mentor for the next generation pursuing a career in government service. We thank her for the impact she has made on our nation and wish her the best in her future endeavors.”
