Committee Democrats Press the New Administration to Respect Laws Governing State Department Personnel

WASHINGTON—Representative Eliot L. Engel, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, this evening made the following statement regarding the State Department’s announcement that it will reduce the number of refugees admitted to the United States next year to 30,000:
WASHINGTON– Today, U.S. Representatives Norma J. Torres (D-CA), Eliot Engel (D-NY), and Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) encouraged President J. Trump to expand the Protection Transfer Agreement (PTA).
WASHINGTON—Foreign Affairs Committee Republicans today voted unanimously to block an effort to get answers from the Administration on the Trump-Putin Helsinki summit. On a party-line vote, the Committee majority effectively killed a measure that would have required the Administration to produce records and documents dealing with this meeting.
