Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the schedule for the month of January.

  • February 3 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a virtual hearing entitled, “Overview of U.S. Priorities in the Western Hemisphere: Opportunities, Challenges and the Path Ahead.”
  • February 4 at 10:30 a.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a public virtual briefing entitled, “Addressing the Threat of a Nuclear Iran.”
  • February 8 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, and Global Human Rights will convene its members for a virtual hearing entitled, “Improving Access to Quality Public Education in Africa.”
  • February 8 at 1:00 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a virtual markup of various measures.
  • February 15 at 2:00 p.m., ET: The Subcommittee on International Development, International Organizations and Global Corporate Social Impact will convene their members for a virtual hearing entitled, “Renewed American Engagement with International Organizations: Goals, Priorities, and Successes.”   
  • February 16 at 1:30 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a virtual Black History Month roundtable entitled, “Black History Month Roundtable: “Leveraging the Global Black Diaspora to Strengthen U.S. Foreign Investment and Assistance”
  • February 17 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation will convene their members for a virtual hearing entitled: “The Burma Crisis, One Year After the Coup.”
  • February 17 at 12:30 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a closed briefing with USAID Administrator, Samantha Power.
