Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Gregory W. Meeks, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement regarding the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti Saturday morning:
“My prayers are with the people of Haiti as they contend with another devastating earthquake. As rescue operations continue, I hold the families who are still missing loved ones in my thoughts.
“The United States stands ready to provide continued support and relief for Haiti, which I am pleased to see the Biden administration already begin to administer through USAID. I urge the international community to join together in providing assistance during this tragic time, and stand in solidarity with the people of Haiti.”
