BRONX, NY— Representative Eliot L. Engel, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, today made the following statement honoring International Holocaust Remembrance Day:

“Today we reflect on the darkest chapter of human history. We must never forget the millions of lives taken during the Holocaust. We honor their memories by committing to vigorously fight intolerance whenever it rears its ugly head. With an alarming resurgence of anti-Semitism over the past few years, today’s International Holocaust Remembrance Day is a time to reflect on the perils of when people turn their head in the face of this sort of bigotry. From this dark past, we must all come together and pledge to fight for a brighter, more tolerant future.”
