Washington, D.C.  Today, Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement regarding North Korea’s latest ballistic missile test. On Thursday, North Korea fired two ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan.

“I strongly condemn North Korea’s ballistic missile test today, which not only violates UN resolutions but endangers the security of our allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific. Provocation won’t bring concessions, and it certainly won’t bring peace. I implore China to stop its support of Pyongyang and work with the United States and other countries in the region to deter this kind of irresponsible behavior. The only path forward is for all parties to engage diplomatically.”
