WASHINGTON—Representative Eliot L. Engel, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement on the postponed United Nations Security Council vote on Israeli settlement activity:

"I'm pleased the UN Security Council delayed action on this resolution.  The UN's record on Israel has been deeply troubling, and today's action would likely have fit that pattern.  The UN should stop wasting its time trying to embarrass Israel, and the United States should continue the policy of vetoing anti-Israel resolutions."
