WASHINGTON—Representative Eliot L. Engel, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, this week hosted a South Korean delegation led by National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang in a meeting with committee members. Chairman Engel and Speaker Moon discussed shared interests in stability, peace, and prosperity in Northeast Asia, and reaffirmed the ironclad alliance between the United States and the Republic of Korea. Both sides reiterated the importance of maintaining close coordination, especially as the United States prepares for an upcoming summit with North Korea.

Fourteen members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee attended the meeting.
