Washington, DC -- On Wednesday, February 11, at 3:30 PM ET, Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South and Central Asia, will lead House Democrats in a shadow hearing titled: “Trump’s Betrayal of America’s Afghan Allies."
House Republicans have been silent following the Trump administration’s decision to close all remaining relocation pathways for Afghan allies into the United States and to suspend the adjudication of legal status for Afghans already here.
This Democratic shadow hearing will expose the moral and strategic consequences of those decisions and shine a light on the Afghan allies, U.S. service members, and public servants who have suffered from the Trump administration’s betrayal.
Members of the press wishing to cover the shadow hearing in person should RSVP to Lauren.Mills@mail.house.gov and to Andrei.Vasilescu@mail.house.gov.
The shadow hearing will also be livestreamed here.
