New York City — Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, today met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly High-Level Week.  

The leaders discussed ways to strengthen trade relations and promote international peace and security. They also discussed the important role the African Growth and Opportunity Act has played in supporting job growth in both countries. Congressman Meeks and President Ramaphosa reaffirmed their commitment to end decades of conflict in Central Africa.
