Washington, DC – A Congressional Delegation (CODEL) led by Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, departed today for Colombia. The CODEL will meet with Colombian Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo, subnational leaders, youth, and civil society to advance the U.S.-Colombia bilateral relationship and champion the rights of Afro-Indigenous people, including through implementation of the 2016 peace accord's Ethnic Chapter.   

Joining the delegation are House Foreign Affairs Committee Members Ami Bera (D-CA), Shelia Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL), Madeline Dean (D-PA), Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-CA), and House Budget Committee Member Ilhan Omar (D-MN).
