Washington, D.C. –Today, Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the schedule for the month of September.

Events that are not closed to the public will be accessible via the Committee’s website, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube page. All Committee events are subject to change at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. 

  • September 14 at 8:30 a.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a closed briefing on Iran nuclear negotiations. 

  • September 14 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation will convene its members for a hybrid hearing entitled, “Strengthening U.S. Engagement in Central Asia.” 

  • September 14 at 1:00 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a hybrid markup of various measures.  

  • September 15 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on International Development, International Organizations and Global Corporate Social Impact will convene its members for a hybrid hearing entitled, “The Sustainable Development Goals and Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic: Implications for U.S. Policy.” 

  • September 15 at 2:00 p.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Migration, Civilian Security and International Economic Policy will convene its members for a hybrid hearing entitled, “Learning Loss in Latin America and the Caribbean: Building Better Education Systems in the Wake of the Pandemic.” 

  • September 21 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa, and Global Counterterrorism will convene its members for a hybrid hearing entitled, “Examining the U.S. Interest in Regional Security Cooperation in the Middle East and North Africa: Opportunities, Obstacles, and Objectives.” 

  • September 21 at 2:00 p.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Europe, Energy, the Environment and Cyber will convene its members for a hybrid hearing entitled, “Accountability for Atrocity Crimes Committed by Russia in Ukraine.” 

  • September 29 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a hybrid hearing entitled, “Assessing the Biden Administration’s U.S. Strategy Toward Sub-Saharan Africa.” 

  • September 30 at 9:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Migration, Civilian Security and International Economic Policy will convene its members for a hybrid closed roundtable entitled, “The Progress and Promise of the Alliance for Development in Democracy.”
