WASHINGTON—Representative Eliot L. Engel, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, today met with British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson. Representative Engel and Foreign Secretary Johnson shared views on policy toward Iran, with emphasis on the importance of strictly enforcing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action while also holding the Iranian government accountable for its support for terrorism, development of ballistic missiles, and other destabilizing activities. Representative Engel underscored the need for close coordination with allies and partners to continue addressing the challenges posed by Iran and concerning elements of the nuclear deal. Representative Engel also expressed his strong support for the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.
