WASHINGTON—Representative Eliot L. Engel, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, today made the following statement on Iran’s reported ballistic missile test:

“I strongly condemn Iran's reported ballistic missile test over the weekend, a clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231.  The U.S. should work with our allies to hold Iran accountable for this dangerous and destabilizing behavior, and I'm glad that the U.S. is pursuing this matter at the UN Security Council.  The Iranians will view anything short of a strong international rebuke as an invitation for further destabilization.”
