WASHINGTON—Representative Eliot L. Engel, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, released the following statement regarding the attack in Nice, France:

“My heart goes out to the people of France tonight as we continue to learn more about the horrific attack in Nice. Every July 14th, France comes together to celebrate a triumph of freedom and justice, and this cowardly attack won’t dim that spirit. In the days ahead, the United States will stand with our ally as authorities investigate what happened and work to bring to justice those responsible. I will continue to monitor this situation, and I send my deepest condolences to all those affected.”
