WASHINGTON, DC—Representative Eliot L. Engel, the leading Democrat on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, today made the following statement regarding the murder of Steven Sotloff:
“I am disgusted by the reports of Steven Sotloff’s murder at the hands of ISIS terrorists. Someone who hides behind a mask and takes the life of an innocent man is a coward. A group that condones such tactics must be stopped.
“My heart goes out to Mr. Sotloff’s family and loved ones. I urge the Administration to take whatever steps are necessary to bring those responsible for this horrific act to justice.”
