New York City — Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, joineda bipartisan, bicameral meetingwith Ukrainian PresidentVolodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly High Level Week.

Ranking Member Meeks committed to pushing for further support to Ukraine, including military aid and investments in Ukraine’s reconstruction. Meeks also reaffirmed that Congress must take further actionto hold Russia accountable for its illegal war and war crimes, including the abduction of Ukrainian children, through additional sanctions.

He reinforced his commitment to working with anyone, Democrat or Republican, to get Ukraine what it needs to defend its sovereigntyand strengthen U.S.-Ukraine cooperation on intelligence sharing.
